1.5 years ago I published the original ‘Top 10 weirdest USB drives‘. Over 500 000 people have visited the original page, and it included all of the sushi drives, the thumb drive and the now classical barbi drive. I’ve received quite many comments and emails about the list, and I know that some of you guys wants an updated list. So here it is - Top 10 weirdest USB drives, Part II’. All new drives!

Some cops in Tijuana resorting to slingshots

The drug cartels here are clearly Goliath, heavily armed with automatic weapons.

The municipal police, stripped of their guns this month as part of a corruption probe, are now playing the role of David.

About 60 officers were issued slingshots yesterday for use on patrols in the tourist section of Avenida Revolucion and the business district of Zona Rio, according to a police department spokesman. Some of the officers bought bags of marbles for ammo.

What a Long Strange Trip It's Been

This year, the drug MDMA, otherwise known as ecstasy, could take a step toward medical respectability. Researchers in South Carolina have begun experimenting with MDMA for patients with post-traumatic stress disorder. At Harvard, a long-awaited pilot study will begin on whether the drug can help relieve anxiety and pain in terminal cancer patients in connection with psychotherapy. And studies will also start in Switzerland and Israel, where a former chief psychiatrist of the Israel Defense Forces will oversee work with people whose PTSD stems from terrorism or war.

Ecstasy, the new prescription drug?

Pirating the 2007 Oscars

For the last few years, the movie industry's battles with Internet pirates offered an entertaining diversion during Oscar season. Their problem: they need to "leak" their films to Academy members for consideration, but don't want those official leaks to fall into the hands of pirates. In 2003, the MPAA banned all screeners, causing a massive uproar from directors, actors, critics and indie studios. The plan was eventually scrapped in December 2003, but they stepped up their legal efforts, using encoded watermarks to bust 70-year-old character actor Carmine Caridi and a "piracy ring" of three employees of a post-production shop for distributing screeners.
