Homebrew app turns DS Lite into iPod
While the usefulness of such a homebrew application is definitely arguable, what is not arguable is how well it mimics the iPod interface and the aesthetical appeal of said interface. Personally, we would like to give this a try, but with memory issues and more viable solutions for portable music, we don't see ourselves utilizing this application in the long run.

US law bans Cubans from Swedish hotels
Swedish hotels are turning away official delegations from Cuba because of American laws.
Hotel chains Scandic and Sheraton have said that the controversial Helms-Burton Act prevents them as American companies from playing host to delegations from Havana.

Top 100 Bootlegs of 2006
On New Year's Eve, I started running the Daft Monkey chart calculations on all of the bootlegs released between January 1 and December 31 2006. It took about three long nights to complete, but I am happy to present to you the world's only pseudo-scientific mashup charting system and the top 100 "most active" bootlegs of 2006.

Robot mother helps South Koreans prepare for birth
With South Korea's birth rate at its lowest ever, medical students are resorting to robots to practice bringing babies into the world.
Kyunghee University Medical Center in Seoul is the first institution in South Korea to use Noelle, a life-sized robot, and her "newborn" to give obstetric students experience.

Phishing fraudsters get flashy
Fraudsters are starting to use Flash-based content instead of regular HTML on phishing websites.
The ruse, recently noted on PayPal-mimicking fraud sites www.ppal-form-ssl.com and www.welcome-ppl.com, is reckoned to be an attempt to fool basic anti-phishing defences (such as browser toolbars) that look at page content. The move represents the latest salvo in the ongoing war between phishing fraudsters and security defenders.
