Drugs: why we should medicalise, not criminalise
If you are a desperate drug addict and you are neither a trust fund babe nor a doctor with a prescription pad, you really have only three ways to pay for your habit: you steal, you deal or you sell your body. For those poor young women who have too many scruples to steal or deal, prostitution is often the only answer. Some 95 per cent of prostitutes, according to a Home Office study, are what they call “problematic drug users”.

Rare White Dolphin Declared As Extinct
A rare, nearly blind white dolphin that survived for millions of years is effectively extinct, an international expedition declared Wednesday after ending a fruitless six-week search of its Yangtze River habitat.
The baiji would be the first large aquatic mammal driven to extinction since hunting and overfishing killed off the Caribbean monk seal in the 1950s.

Book a room at the world's first $500 million dollar underwater hotel
Bruce Jones has spent much of his career designing underwater toys for the rich and famous. The 50-year-old president of U.S. Submarines is best known for building ultraluxe custom subs, $80-million vessels that feature private staterooms, paneled interiors made from exotic hardwoods, plush carpeting, and enough onboard oxygen to keep you and 10 friends breathing easy for three weeks of cruising at depths of nearly 1,000 feet. Now Jones is redirecting his expertise in undersea opulence toward the hotel industry. His plan: to open the Poseidon Mystery Island, the world’s first major resort at the bottom of the ocean, by September 2008.

Evel Knievel sues rapper Kanye West over video
Veteran daredevil Evel Knievel is suing rap star Kanye West for trademark infringement over a music video that depicts the recording artist as "Evel Kanyevel" trying to jump a canyon on a rocket vehicle.
The lawsuit, filed on Friday in U.S. District Court in Tampa, Florida, says Knievel's image was tarnished by the "vulgar, sexual and racially charged nature" of West's video for his hit single "Touch the Sky," which co-stars actress Pamela Anderson.

This is no life for anyone
For women like me, prostitution is about a lot more than drugs, and getting out isn't easy.
I've been selling sex since I was 18 and I'm 41 now. I ran away from home when I was 14 because I was terrified my mum was going to put me in care, and ended up living with fairground people for three years. Like so many girls in my situation, I drifted to London. Having no skills, I ended up working in a hostess bar, then moved down the prostitution food chain and worked for an escort agency.

11 Common Misconceptions About Marijuana
While conducting further research on marijuana use in the United States and its implications, I came across this little gem of misinformation on the Drug Free America Foundation’s website. It is a fine example of arrogantly scripted works of anti-marijuana propaganda. Of all the facts they present, only a select few cite sources in any way, and these facts tend largely to be red herrings, as I will explain below. I have conducted a line-by-line analysis of all of their marijuana “facts.”
