105-year-old man marries 22-year-old girl

"If you believe in fate and true love, whatever you are destined for will become a reality."

These are the words of wisdom from centenarian Sudar Marto — and he should know what he’s talking about. Sudar caused quite a stir in the quiet village of Duyong two months ago when he took a 22-year-old woman as his bride.

Although the September wedding did not receive as wide media publicity as in the case of Datuk K and Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, or Datuk R and Puteri Shahanaz, the union of the 105-year-old Sudar and Ely Maryulianti Rahmat nonetheless set tongues wagging.

Drug may have created acid that ate German banknotes

A mystery substance that caused some euro banknotes in Germany to fall to pieces may be linked to the party drug crystal speed, Der Spiegel magazine reported on Saturday, quoting regional police. Users of crystal speed inhale it through the nose using rolled-up banknotes and chemists think impurities such as sulphates, mingled with sweat, could have created an acid that ate away at the notes, the magazine quoted police as saying.

Just like every other gadget, light bulbs go flat

If you've got a room in your house that never seems to get enough light, has CeeLite got the wallpaper for you. The company's Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) panels are flexible, paper-thin light bulbs that you can hang on a wall, coming in sizes as large as 3 x 6 feet. Just a millimeter thick, the panels sandwich light-emitting phosphors between layers of electrodes.
