Nach einem neuen Report von Greenpeace schmelzen Gletscher immer schneller. Die Auswertung von Forschungsdaten belegt, dass die globale Erwärmung in immer kürzerer Zeit zu immer dramatischeren Folgen führt. Zudem zeigen die Umweltschützer anhand von neuen Fotovergleichen den zunehmenden Schwund der Alpengletscher. Anlass für die Veröffentlichung ist der Beginn der UN-Klimaschutzkonferenz am Montag in Nairobi/Kenia.

29.8% of Windows XP users consider a move to Linux over Vista
A recent poll shows a good percentage of *tech-savvy* XP users considering a move to Linux over an upgrade to Vista. It seems Microsoft are pushing users away with more looking at using Linux than legally upgrading.

Spammers go island hopping to bypass filter
Anti-spam researchers at security company McAfee have discovered a new spamming trend nicknamed 'spam island-hopping'.
The new trend involves spammers using the domain names of small islands as website links in spam campaigns. McAfee has traced spam activity from the Isle of Man to the tiny tropical island of Tokelau in the South Pacific.
