John Z. DeLorean R.I.P.
While only about 9,000 of his namesake cars were ever built, John Z. DeLorean's place in auto history was assured as soon as the gull-winged sports cars rumbled off the assembly line.
DeLorean was one of only a handful of U.S. entrepreneurs to have dared to launch a car company during the last 75 years.

Wired shoe helps gambler cheat at roulette
We want to meet Laszlo Kovacs’ shoemaker. The Hungarian gambler was recently arrested in Australia, after authorities discovered he was using a shoe-based computer, connected wirelessly to an earpiece, to cheat at roulette.

CIGARETTE, LIGHT THYSELF
Bans on smoking and tobacco advertising are spreading like wildfire. But that hasn't stopped inventors coming up with ways to make smoking easier. The latest is a self-lighting cigarette designed by Gashbam Enterprises of Israel that does away with the need for matches and can be lit on a windy day (WO 2005/018349). The cigarette has a tip anointed with sulphur and phosphorus. Striking the tip against a rough pad on the side of the packet ignites the cigarette, which is reinforced with slivers of bamboo or tobacco leaf to stop it breaking.

Open Source PearPC 2.25x faster than CherryOS
Open source program that runs a G4 speed 2.25x faster than CherryOS. It always being updated so who knows, it might get to G5 speeds.
