Lebanon withdraws from Eurovision


Lebanon has withdrawn from this year's Eurovision Song Contest, after refusing to show the Israeli entry on Lebanese TV channel Tele-liban.

The channel told the European Broadcasting Union that Lebanon's legislation made it nearly impossible to broadcast the Israeli performance.

Teen girls' Bible talks of oral sex, lesbianism


A Bible created especially for girls age 13-16 that includes profiles of fictional teenagers discussing oral sex, lesbianism and "dream" guys is drawing sharp criticism from some Christian parents who say such material should not appear alongside Scripture.

The "True Images" Bible, published by Zondervan, promises on its dustcover to "strengthen your relationship with God, family, friends and guys."

News agency suing Google


News agency Agence France Presse has sued Google Inc., alleging the Web search leader includes AFP's photos, news headlines and stories on its news site without permission.

The French news service is seeking damages of at least $17.5 million and an order barring Google News from displaying AFP photographs, news headlines or story leads, according to the suit filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Lalo Guerrero, 'Father of Chicano Music,' Dies at 88


We note the death of popular Chicano musician Eduardo "Lalo" Guerrero. He died Wednesday in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was 88. Dubbed "The Father of Chicano Music," his repertoire ranged from politically charged corridos to popular Latin-flavored parodies. His influence was felt far and wide in the Latin music community.
