Searching for the Welsh-Hindi link
A BBC journalist is urging helpful linguists to come forward to help solve a mystery - why the Hindi accent has so much in common with Welsh.
Sonia Mathur, a native Hindi speaker, had her interest sparked when she moved from India to work for the BBC in Wales - and found that two accents from countries 5,000 miles apart seemed to have something in common.

British Firm Breaks New Ground in Surveillance Science
The "suicide bomber" clips a shrapnel-filled belt around his waist and buttons up his jacket to conceal it.
As he turns back and forth in front of a semi-circular white panel, about the size of a shower cubicle, a computer monitor shows the metal-packed cylinders standing out clearly in white against his body.
This is no real security alarm: it's a demonstration at the British technology group QinetiQ of a scanning device that sees under people's clothes to spot not just metal but other potential threats like ceramic knives or hidden drugs.

Pharming Out-Scams Phishing
First came phishing scams, in which con artists hooked unwary internet users one by one into compromising their personal data. Now the latest cyberswindle, pharming, threatens to reel in entire schools of victims.
Pharmers simply redirect as many users as possible from the legitimate commercial websites they'd intended to visit and lead them to malicious ones. The bogus sites, to which victims are redirected without their knowledge or consent, will likely look the same as a genuine site. But when users enter their login name and password, the information is captured by criminals.

The result is hours of CeBIT video coverage . - check for some Siemens set-top-box, Intel high-tech car, KiSS-Technology 1080p DivX Video-on Demand-players, Chinese and Taiwanese Pmps, WiFi SIP phones, a remote-controlled Linux-running Canadian airplane. And more videos to be added tomorrow. All videos are on BitTorrents.

Bush: No Respect for Press or the People
To see just how Bush loves to give the press the finger, let's recall his philosophy about the press: "You're assuming that you represent the public. I don't accept that." If the press doesn't represent the public, who does? The President? With his ever-shrinking "mandate"? The Bush Administrations "fuck you" attitude towards the Press--and by extension, the American Public--is only now being discussed, as reporters are finally awaking from their stupor to realize they've been conned and scammed into being Presidential lapdogs.

iPod Super
Ultimately, I’d like to get a regular 3.5″ hard drive working with the iPod and explore what capacities it can make use of. The fact that it would be a huge unit will simply be a novelty.
Why do this? This project came about after I dropped my 40 GB 3rd generation iPod and killed the hard drive in it. I decided to open up the iPod and see what I could do with it. I could do so without fear of breaking it, since I’d already broken the most expensive part in it.
