LOL

Turns out I'm getting THOUSANDS of hits from yahoo. Knowing that yahoo is a search engine, I check out what kinds of search items are being pointed to my site. What the hell are people searching for that’s on my site? And why Yahoo and not Google image search? Many unanswered questions. I can, however, see what search results are pointing at my site.

Woah there. Paris Hilton? I don’t have a picture of Paris Hilton on my site!

bastard pop mash ups

"On January 18th 2004, Strictly Kev premiered the original 'Raiding The 20th Century' on XFM's 'The Remix' show in London. It was a 40 minute attempt to catalogue the history of cut up music - be it avant garde tape manipulation, turntable megamixes or bastard pop mash ups. It rapidly spread throughout the web and managed to cause a full scale server crash on boomselection.info when they hosted it due to the volume of net traffic. "

Frozen sea on Mars linked to elevated methane

The discovery of a frozen sea on Mars - revealed in a New Scientist story on Monday - has ignited a new debate on whether life existed on the Red Planet.

Most intriguing is the claim that the atmosphere above the frozen ocean in the Elysium Planitia region may have elevated concentrations of methane. If true, it could suggest that primitive micro-organisms might even survive on Mars today, according to Jan-Peter Muller, at University College London, UK, and one of the team that found the frozen sea.

Quit Your Job to Blog, Blog, Blog

After years of juggling a full-time job and a high-profile blog, Jason Kottke is calling it quits.

Quits for the job, that is.

From now on, the New York web designer will no longer be commuting five days a week to his day job at a Manhattan financial services firm. Instead, he'll be devoting himself full time to building out his blog, kottke.org, a scattered collection of writings and photos on topics ranging from web design to the politics of Girl Scout cookie sales.
