Dozens of birds get drunk on holly berries, crash into office building, die
Dozens of birds got drunk from eating holly berries, then crashed into the glass of an office building and died.
"It was like an Alfred Hitchcock movie," worker Denise Wilkinson said. "It was spooky. You could hear them where they flew into the glass."

Condom bill raises eyebrows
The Norwegian military has been taking a lot of heat lately, for budget overruns and questionable accounting practices. Now it's emerged that a bill from a leading condom retailer kicked up a fair amount of fuss last year.
"The bill has been accepted, and paid," confirmed General Major Egil Johansen, head of the military staff's personnel operations unit. He wouldn't comment much beyond that.
The bill, for NOK 2792 (about USD 460), came from the company called "Kondomeriet," which also runs a retail outlet on Oslo's main shopping street. It caused a stir when it opened in the early 1990s.

Google Maps
I'm normally a little suspicious and hesitatnt when Google offers yet another service because I've already seen Yahoo! go down that road and spread itself too thin. It always felt like Y! was 50 square miles, but only two inches deep. Well, let's just say that Google did it right when they set out to do maps! Nobody has ever done it right in the history of civilization until now. Google managed to make the interface five times simpler than anyone else, yet still twice as useful.
Google Maps find Weapons of Mass Destruction.

House backs major shift to electronic IDs
The U.S. House of Representatives approved on Thursday a sweeping set of rules aimed at forcing states to issue all adults federally approved electronic ID cards, including driver's licenses.
Under the rules, federal employees would reject licenses or identity cards that don't comply, which could curb Americans' access to airplanes, trains, national parks, federal courthouses and other areas controlled by the federal government. The bill was approved by a 261-161 vote.

Rite in the Rain
Rite in the Rain will sometimes not take a regular ball point pen's ink because the ball gets stuck. The smooth surface is not rough enough to get it unstuck. Easy solution: write quickly on a normal piece of paper or the back of your hand. Once the ball is unstuck, the pen will write on Rite in the Rain paper. Note: Standard ball point pens will skip when writing on any wet surface. For a pen that writes better while wet, try our all-weather pens.
