Roundup-Ready Coca-strain


A new strain of the Coca-bush, Boliviana negra, resistant to the herbicide glyphosate, marketed as Roundup by Monsanto, are gaining in popularity among South American farmers. Drug-fighting crop-dusters may just be weeding out the Coca-fields.

Spammers get nine years in prison


Siblings Jeremy Jaynes and Jessica DeGroot became the first two spammers to be convicted under U.S. anti-spam laws. They received 9-year prison sentences and $7,500 U.S. fines for peddling what prosecutors called modern-day snake oil.

Naked Man Chases Jet


A Canadian man trying to buy a plane ticket from Los Angeles International Airport to Australia stripped naked and climbed a fence with 3 rows of barbed-wire. He then ran full speed towards the jet and climbed onto its wheel well.

F-16 Fires on School


The US military is investigating an incident where a National Guard F-16 fighter jet on a night training mission fired 25 rounds into the roof of an elementary school 6km away from his target.
