Poisoned peppers pilfered
Spanish thieves who made off with three tons of green peppers hoping to make a healthy profit, might instead get a bad case of indigestion: the vegetables are toxic.
A farmer in the southern region of Andalusia whose field was raided by the thieves warned the peppers had been treated with a pesticide whose effects will not wear off for at least another week.

OKAY, WHO stole Michael Moore's brain? Why has one of the American left's most brilliant polemicists and satirists started cozying up to the Democratic party, which, if his past writings are to be believed, he loathes almost as much as the Republicans?
Why is the anti-war creator of Fahrenheit 9/11 ignoring the fact that on Iraq, the policies of Democratic nominee John Kerry are virtually identical to those of Republican President George Bush?

Sherpa plans 2,700-mile football dribble
The grandson of legendary Everest climber Sherpa Tenzing Norgay plans to dribble a football 2,700 miles across India.
Tashi Tenzing plans to begin dribbling his way across India in September next year, with the aim of reaching Everest base camp in 2006.

Nazi salute dog owner's sentence upheld
An appeals court in Germany has upheld a 13-month sentence given to a man who taught his dog to perform a Nazi salute.
Roland Thein was given a suspended sentence by a Berlin court earlier this year after finding him guilty of displaying Nazi symbols and insulting a police officer.
