"Captain Kirk" goes Pop: Shatner veröffentlicht Album
Im Herbst veröffentlicht "Raumschiff Enterprise"-Ikone William Shatner nach 36 Jahren wieder ein Album. Der 73-jährige Kanadier verblüfft auf "Has Been" mit poporientierten Songs, die er zusammen mit dem US-Singer/Songwriter Ben Folds aufgenommen hat.

Kinderschuhe sind erstens teuer, zweitens Wegwerf-Artikel. Kaum gekauft, schon sind die Kids wieder rausgewachsen.
Mit dem Elternfrust ist jetzt Schluss. „Max, der Wurm“ macht’s möglich. Der Kinderschuh (Euro 49,90) des Sportartikel-Herstellers K2 lässt sich per Knopfdruck wie eine Ziehharmonika auseinander ziehen. Dadurch kann der Schuh bis zu einer ganzen Größe verstellt und ein komplettes Jahr getragen werden.

Expanding shoes target growing feet
A US sportswear maker has designed shoes that expand to fit a child's growing feet and is trying them out on cost-conscious German shoppers, the company said on Tuesday.
The "Max, der Wurm", (Max the worm) shoe was first delivered to stores in Germany last week, has a flexible design with an extending concertina panel between the toe and heel.

British police sniffer dog dies of suspected drug overdose after raid
A police sniffer dog died of a suspected overdose after a drug search.
Lancashire Police said Tuesday that Todd, a seven-year-old springer spaniel, fell ill after searching a car and field in Preston, northwest England, on July 24. His handler took him to a vet, but his condition deteriorated and he died at Liverpool University's specialist animal unit.

Prague cow art under attack
A plastic cow has been stolen and is feared "drowned" in the latest attack on an open-air art exhibition in Prague featuring more than 200 brightly coloured life-size cows.
So far vandals have attacked 50 of the CowParade exhibition's 214 beasts dotted around central Prague, causing damage around 1 million koruna (about $A54,000).
