Islamist Websites and Their Hosts
Part I: Islamist Terror Organizations

The post September 11 war on terrorism has increased Islamist organizations' dependence on the Internet, making it a vital means of communication and indoctrination for both Islamist organizations and for the infrastructure of Al-Qa'ida supporters. As a result of Islamist websites often being tracked and in some cases hacked, or shut down by their Internet Service Providers (ISPs), the Islamist organizations have also become increasingly dependent on chat rooms and message boards for communication.

A First Look at Doom 3

It may or may not be a coincidence that 1993 was the year id Software released a video game called Doom, and 1996 was the year they put out Quake. Maybe there's a connection, maybe not. But I have a feeling it's going to happen all over again in about three weeks when id releases Doom 3.

Promotions for fat Malaysian police officers frozen

Obesity in the 86,000 strong police force was "not serious" but officers would be required to participate in marching drills at least once a month, the reports said, citing Kamaruddin Mohd Ali, a senior police official.

Officers will only be considered for promotion if they can complete a 2.4-kilometre run within an unspecified time limit, the reports said.
