Two charged with stealing marijuana
Two men face felony charges after stealing their friend's marijuana. According to the criminal complaint, the two were visiting the home of a 26-year-old Waupun man between April 1 and April 20, 2003. Vorlob and Rentsch are accused of taking eight to 10 pounds of marijuana from the unidentified man's home. Vorlob told police he sold some of the marijuana and kept some for himself before returning the remainder to Rentsch to return to the man.

Gorilla Runs Amok in Zoo
A male gorilla escaped from his cage in the Berlin zoo and sent terrified visitors running for cover, the zoo said on Wednesday.
Eight-year-old Bokito, who weighs 286 pounds and stands more than six feet, six inches tall, climbed over the top of the glass wall surrounding his outside enclosure and roamed the zoo on Tuesday.

Video Shows Police Hitting Suspect With Flashlight After Apparent Surrender

Police were investigating officers' use of force Wednesday during the arrest of an unarmed black man who led them on a chase after allegedly being spotted driving a stolen car. ABC7 Eyewitness News footage showed an officer hitting the man with a flashlight at least 10 times after it appeared he had surrendered. Police said the man was not seriously injured but did complain that he had been struck in the head and suffered an injury to his nose.

Microsoft patents body power
Microsoft has been awarded a patent for using human skin as a power conduit and data bus.
Patent No. 6,754,472, which was published Tuesday, describes a method for transmitting power and data to devices worn on the body and for communication of data between those devices.
In its filing, Microsoft cites the proliferation of wearable electronic devices, such as wristwatches, pagers, PDAs (worn on people's belts) and small displays that can now be mounted on headgear.

$3M in drug evidence missing
Nearly $3 million in drugs, $147,000 in cash and dozens of guns went missing from the evidence room at the Memphis police department, according to audit findings released Tuesday.
The state audit was prepared to help federal authorities in a case that has already led to charges against 16 people, including two civilian employees of the department. No police officers have been charged.
