Pop's Jackson 'paid boy millions'
Pop star Michael Jackson agreed to pay a boy he was accused of molesting $15.3m (£8.5m) in 1993, it is reported.
According to legal documents, Mr Jackson did not admit misconduct but settled because the case could have harmed his career, US Court TV said.

Teleportation breakthrough made
Scientists have performed successful teleportation on atoms for the first time, the journal Nature reports.
The feat was achieved by two teams of researchers working independently on the problem in the US and Austria.
The ability to transfer key properties of one particle to another without using any physical link has until now only been achieved with laser light.

Operator error and glitches plague space age robotic toilets
There are quite a lot of people who are pooh-poohing the city's five new automated toilets. The robotic restrooms have entries that slide open like elevator doors, seats that retract for high-pressure cleaning and a system that washes the floor after 50 uses.
But a random check by The Seattle Times found some problems.

Protest over whale 'chief' disrupts capture
An effort to re-unite a lonely orca swimming off Canada with its family has been disrupted by native Indian protesters who believe the animal is the spirit of a dead chief and do not want it to leave.
Members of the Mowachaht-Muchalaht band used canoes to lure the curious killer whale, nicknamed Luna, away from a boat that scientists had hoped the animal would follow into a floating capture pen.

Madonna has reportedly changed her name to Esther.
The singer was inspired to take on a new name by her study of Jewish mysticism known as Kabbalah.
Madonna is rarely seen out without Kabbalah's trademark red string bracelet.

Vor kurzem sorgte bei der Onlinebörse Ebay ein öffentlicher Ehestreit zwischen einem Paar für reges Interesse. Das Ehepaar bekriegte sich gegenseitig auf zwei verschiedenen Auktionen und Tausende nahmen virtuell daran teil.
Der Ehemann versteigerte in seiner Auktion ein Auto, das die Ehefrau kaputt gemacht hatte. Aus Rache bot die Frau ihren Ehemann in Form einer Holzpuppe zum Kauf an. Es hagelte Trost und Spott von Menschen, die ähnliches erlebt hatten.

Kreuzigung gegen Rauswurf
Aus Protest gegen Entlassungen hat sich am Mittwoch ein Busfahrer in Paraguay kreuzigen lassen. Bereits am Montag hatte sich ein Fahrer mit Nägeln an ein Holzkreuz schlagen lassen. Am Dienstag war ein zweiter Kollege seinem Beispiel gefolgt.
Alle drei wehren sich mit der schmerzhaften Aktion gegen den Verlust von etwa 300 Arbeitsplätzen und drohten sogar ihre Selbstverbrennung an.
