Hard-up German police buy petrol in Poland
Hard-up police in Eastern Germany are dodging taxes by buying their petrol in Poland.
Police spokesman Detlef Lueben said officers in the Oder district of Frankfurt took the step because of rising petrol prices.

Schiffbrüchige sanken im Rettungsboot
Erst kein Glück, und dann auch noch Pech: Zunächst kenterte ein Kanu, in dem eine Gruppe Schülerinnen und ihre Lehrerin auf der Unstrut in Sachsen-Anhalt unterwegs waren. Als sich die Schiffsbrüchigen dann an Bord eines vorbeifahrenden Schiffes gerettet hatten, sank auch dieser Kahn.

Britney Spears - truly posing for Playboy? I don't think so
In the past few days many rumors have surfaced about Britney Spears posing for Playboy for a mere $40 million dollars. Although the already famous picture looks very real, and is fun to look at, like so many we have seen before it is a fake. Now before you call me a liar and break out the sock and lotion for the third time today let me explain my findings.

InfoVis - Data Visualization Tools
This page provides pointers to commonly used data analysis and visualization algorithms. An XML Toolkit was implemented to facilitate the efficient visualization of diverse data sets as well as easy comparison of visualizations generated by different algorithms. The toolkit provides a unified architecture in which algorithms can be easily incorporated. Many software packages are available in Java and hence can be run on any platform that supports Java 1.4.
