What is AudioPaint ?
AudioPaint generates sounds from pictures. The program can read JPEG, GIF and BMP files and translates each pixel position and color into frequency, amplitude and pan information. AudioPaint can therefore be considered as a massive additive synthesis tool.

Command Errors Aided Iraq Abuse, Army Has Found
An internal Army investigation has found a virtual collapse of the command structure in a prison outside Baghdad where American enlisted personnel are accused of committing acts of abuse and humiliation against Iraqi detainees.
A report on the investigation said midlevel military intelligence officers were allowed to skirt the normal chain of command to issue questionable orders to enlisted personnel from the reserve military police unit handling guard duty there.

An Iraq Prison Diary
Bernhard, a Whiskey Bar reader in Germany, has made a spectacular catch - or cache, I should say, since it comes from the bowels of the Google data base.
What he stumbled across is the diary of one Joe Ryan, a frequent caller and on-air personality at station KSTP, a conservative talk radio station in Minneapolis. More recently, Joe has been serving as a military interrogator at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, and KSTP has been posting his diary on their web site.

Two Gatsos in Dudley which were destroyed by fire in 2002 have been set alight again. The top picture shows the camera on the A459 at Cinder Bank and the lower one is on Tansey Green Road.

Marijuana Plants Found Growing At Fla. Day Care
Authorities in the Fort Myers area are looking for the operator of a local day-care center after marijuana plants were found growing on property.
Lee County deputies said they initially went to Cynthia Boesenberg's house to find someone who was wanted on felony warrants. However, they discovered several marijuana plants growing in her back yard.
