Sperm whale explodes in Tainan City
Blood and guts of 17-meter long 50-ton mammal splatter sidewalks, automobiles parked nearby. A dead sperm whale being transported through Tainan City on its way to a research station suddenly exploded yesterday, splattering cars and shops with blood and guts.
Certified by authorities as the largest beached whale on record in Taiwan, the 17-meter 50-ton carcass was being transported by a flat-bed trailer-truck to a special research location after National Cheng Kung University officials and security guards refused to allow the whale on campus.

Publishers that display AdSense ads can turn off the feature as a user preference (and instead of serving the PSA can serve their own ads).

Linus Torvalds: SCO Is "Just Too Wrong"
The originator of the Linux OS has sharp words for SCO's "cornered rat" claims of intellectual-property infringement
If anyone knows what's in Linux, it's Linus Torvalds. He did the first work on the open-source operating system while a student at the University of Helsinki, and he managed the often chaotic process of building it with other programmers.

The malicious e-mail worm, Mydoom, is still burrowing through global e-mail networks, but will plateau in the next two days, said security experts.
Carried in an e-mail attachment, it sends itself out to other e-mail addresses if opened, and may allow unauthorised access to computers.

The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation presents
After setting a new record for worst second weekend fall-off in Hollywood history, 2003’s most critically reviled film GIGLI now leads the pack among nominations for The 24th Annual Golden Raspberry (RAZZIE®) Awards, dis-honoring 2003’s Worst Achievements in Film. “Winners” (if that’s the right term here!) will be announced in ultra-low-budget ceremonies scheduled for 10:30am/PST Saturday, February 28 at the Four-Points by Sheraton Hotel in Santa Monica, the now traditional 24 hours BEFORE That Other Award Show (a.k.a. “The Giving Out of the Little Gold Naked Men”).
