52 Burns or RIAA Lawsuit

I too have decided to start a new year's project based on, actually a complete rip off of, kottke's 52 magazines or bust and vegard's 52 albums or burn. But I'm cheap(poor, lazy) and can't afford 52 CD's. Even if I could, I don't think a CD is worth the price. I could do magazines but I enjoy music more. So my project will involve me meticulously searching the web for albums. One a week, for the entire year and probably beyond. I'll be using the greatly superior BitTorrent client and Suprnova. When this site is down, I'll find another. If it comes down to it, I'll use Kazaa Lite.

People have died laughing.

In recent decades, laughter has been touted as a possible cure for many ills, including cancer and heart trouble. But could mirth also be deadly, making the phrase "I just about died laughing" as much about accuracy as it is hyperbole?

Fifty movies for 2004
You need proof Hollywood's a factory town?

"As soon as you say, 'Yes, I'll make that movie,' that's what they do," Howard says about studios rushing to claim specific release dates.

January has just begun and already there's a full slate of films lined up, most with planned dates, for 2004. Among the bigger movies set for this year: Brad Pitt's summer action epic "Troy," Martin Scorsese's Howard Hughes biopic "The Aviator" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." There are almost too many sequels to count, including "Shrek 2," "Spider-Man 2," "The Bourne Supremacy" and "Ocean's Twelve."

Now politicians audition for votes

Pakistan faced embarrassment yesterday with the publication of a sales brochure from its top-secret nuclear facility, apparently hawking technology and components to would-be nuclear powers.

The brochure from the AQ Khan Research Laboratories, the centre of Pakistan's nuclear weapons programme, has an official-looking seal on the cover saying "Government of Pakistan".
