Just when you thought you'd seen it all from Britney Spears, the pop princess, 22, has gotten married -- at a little Vegas chapel, wearing a baseball cap, to a childhood friend, sources close to the singer say. A hotel bellman walked her down the aisle.

Britney Spears - Blitzhochzeit nach durchzechter Nacht
In übermütiger Party-Laune hat die amerikanische Pop-Prinzessin Britney Spears offenbar kurz entschlossen einen Jugendfreund geheiratet. In Jeans und mit Baseball-Kappe hat die 22-Jährige den gleichaltrigen Jason Alexander in einer Hochzeitskapelle in Las Vegas das Ja-Wort gegeben. Es sei ein Scherz gewesen, der wohl auf die eine oder andere Flasche Champagner zurückzuführen sei, berichten US-Medien. Nüchtern betrachtet wird die Ehe wohl nicht von allzu langer Dauer sein: Angeblich denkt Spears bereits über eine Annullierung nach.

Vollständige Übernahme der NSA-Biometrie-Roadmap für EU Reisepässe
Der grösste US-Geheimdienst hat die Standards für Europas Pässe definiert die Daumen und Zeigefinger rechts und ein JPEG-Foto enthalten werden. Die EU-Innenminister haben die NSA-Roadmap für Biometrie damit vollständig übernommen.

If that odour is vapour plumes of explosives, for example, scientists can map the location of landmines with the help of a laser system.

NASA rover sends snapshots from Mars
The first of NASA's two Mars rovers landed safely on an open stretch within Gusev Crater on Saturday night and sent back screenfuls of black-and-white images, marking a successful start to NASA's first ground-level exploration of the Red Planet in more than six years.
Controllers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., whooped, clapped and hugged each other shortly before 9 p.m. PT (midnight ET) when they heard that a carrier tone was received from the Spirit rover. That signal, relayed by NASA's orbiting Mars Global Surveyor, confirmed that the spacecraft had landed intact and right side up.
