Zartschmelzende Schokolade ist für viele Menschen Seelentröster, Belohnung oder eine ganz besondere Wonne. In der kalten, dunklen Jahreszeit greift so mancher etwas häufiger in die Pralinenschachtel oder zum Schokoriegel, um über ein Stimmungstief hinwegzukommen. Fewer Swiss soldiers caught smoking dope in 2003


Swiss soldiers smoked less cannabis and hashish in 2003, judging by the falling number of disciplinary sanctions for drugs offences announced by military authorities in Switzerland. Heinz Aschmann, of the Swiss army's chief of staff, said 472 soldiers were sanctioned for drugs offences during 2003, against about 600 to 700 in previous years.

Judge Allows 'Screener' Copies to Voters


A federal judge Friday freed movie distributors to send copies of films to awards voters — a decision seen as a victory for independent film producers as awards season approaches. U.S. District Judge Michael B. Mukasey lifted a rule imposed by the Motion Picture Association of America that blocked studios from sending the videotape copies, or "screeners," to voters.

Al Qaeda tape likely used to rally, recruit


An al Qaeda video, which appeared this week on an al Qaeda-affiliated Web site, shows the September 11, 2001, attack on New York's World Trade Center as filmed from an angle sources in Washington said they had not seen before. FBI officials said they were aware of the video, but declined further comment. It is not clear how al Qaeda obtained it.

Police to use 'helmet cam'


Helmets housing concealed cameras are to be worn by police in Sussex.

The Sussex force says it intends to use '"helmet cam" only when there is an above average chance of crime - such as outside nightclubs at closing time.

Oops! Vicar gives out porn films


A German vicar inadvertently supplied his parish with dozens of hard core porn films in an unsuccessful bid to teach people about the life of Christ.

Frithjof Schwesig, vicar in the southwestern town of Lampoldshausen, had ordered 300 copies of a video film portraying the life of Christ as told by the gospel according to Luke.

U.S. eyes return to the moon


It has been 31 years since a U.S. astronaut last walked on the moon, but China's space ambitions have signaled a possible American return to the lunar surface as part of a renewed space program.
