Adobe stellt die Weiterentwicklung von LiveMotion ein
Wie Adobe klammheimlich auf der LiveMotion-Webseite bekannt gab, wurde die Entwicklung sowie der Verkauf der Animations-Software für Web-Grafiken eingestellt. Bis zum 31. März 2004 will Adobe noch Support für die Software anbieten.

Verbraucherschützer und Medienwissenschaftler haben einen Verhaltenskodex für Betreiber von Internet-Suchmaschinen gefordert. Am 16. Dezember soll nun ein erstes, von der Bertelsmann-Stiftung initiiertes Treffen stattfinden, auf dem unter anderem AOL, MSN und Allesklar.com, die bereits Unterstützung signalisiert hatten, über Verhaltensmaßregeln diskutieren wollen.

OVER AT Reason there's a report that Los Angeles, because of its politically correct stance, has sent a letter out to its contractors deeming which and which not terms they use.
It prints a letter purporting to be from an official which rules that manufacturers labelling equipment using the terms Master/Slave is not acceptable identification.

MORE than 100 staff were evacuated from a city centre bank HQ after the bomb squad were called in to detonate a chocolate Santa.
Workers in the Bank of Scotland’s headquarters on Edinburgh’s Mound were thrown into panic after the string used to tie the novelty chocolate to the Christmas tree was mistaken for wiring.

US plans war on al-Qaida's Afghan opium
American forces in Afghanistan are planning an offensive against the next opium crop, predicted to be the country's biggest ever, after calculating that drugs are now al-Qaida's main source of income.
A senior American official in Kabul told the Guardian that current British efforts to temper Afghanistan's opium output had had "absolutely no impact" on the amount of opium produced since the fall of the Taliban two years ago.
