A new invention can sniff like a dog, find drugs like a dog and help police catch criminals like a dog. But can the so-called "Dog on a Chip" replace the police officer's best friend?
Georgia Tech researchers have developed a machine that can instantly sniff out cocaine and other illegal drugs without the hassle of feeding, training and interpreting a police dog.

Over $6 Million Found In Truck Loaded With Other Dough
Authorities found boxes filled with millions of dollars when they searched an 18-wheeler because its paperwork "didn't add up" during a routine inspection. Eleven boxes filled with packaged money were found in the truck Wednesday among its regular load, boxes of heat-and-serve dinner rolls, authorities said. The total was estimated at $6 million.

Solar Hurricane Hits Earth in Repeat of Oct Storm

Basanti Tripura, 38, was collecting fruit with a friend in a forest when she was attacked on Tuesday, a police official said.

EU hi-tech crime agency created
The European Union is setting up an agency to co-ordinate work to combat the rising tide of cybercrime.
The European Network and Information Security Agency will help educate the public about viruses, hacker attacks and other security problems.
It will also act as a co-ordinator for Europe-wide investigations into virus outbreaks or electronic attacks.

Italian TV satire suspended
Italian comedienne Sabina Guzzanti predicted her new show would be pulled from TV before it even went on air. "Who told you I will allow this programme to be shown?" she said in a trailer, disguised as Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
"There are plenty of days left from now to 16 November, and we will certainly find many opportunities to suspend it."

Guerrillas fired rockets into Iraq's oil ministry and two Baghdad hotels today, in yet another show of defiance against US security forces.
More than a dozen rockets, launched from donkey carts, struck at some of Baghdad's most heavily protected civilian sites.

Best Use Of G4 Cube Ever
I've had this machine in my possession, after salvaging it from a garbage bin, for almost 3 years now. It was originally a (very) dead 450mhz G4 cube that someone apparently tossed, failing to see the potential greatness it still held. I always knew it would make an awesome aquarium, but just never quite got around to working on it. After packing it up, as we moved from San Jose, CA to Tacoma, WA, and then to Seattle, WA, I figured it was finally time to really get this project underway.
