Austria Freedom Party Heads Resign


The future of Austria's governing coalition was thrown into doubt after a vice chancellor and two other leaders from the Freedom Party resigned Sunday over a political dispute. Vice Chancellor Susanne Riess-Passer and the two other leaders announced their resignations Sunday over a rift with far-rightist Joerg Haider, the party's former leader and now governor of a southwestern province.

Austrian Government Teeters over Haider


Austria's government coalition, formed in 2000 amid international protest over Joerg Haider's far-right Freedom Party, teetered on Monday toward early elections after Haider drove his party rival out of the cabinet.
