The Ninebot by Segway miniPRO is a self-balancing scooter that is a powerful cross between the larger original Segway models and the compact hoverboards that have become increasingly popular recently. The miniPRO replaced the original Segway’s large handlebars with a sleeker control bar held between the knees, and its large air-filled wheels allow for smoother rides than other hoverboards.

Segway boss dies after riding Segway over cliff
The multi-millionaire businessman, 62, fell into the River Wharfe while inspecting the grounds of his North Yorkshire estate on a rugged country version of the Segway.
The Segway is a motorised scooter which use gyroscopes to remain upright and is controlled by the direction in which the rider leans.

Just when you thought that the Segway "self-balancing personal transportation device" concept had finally had a stake driven firmly through its überdorky heart, it's baaaack.
But now you have a place to sit, and not be forced to stand up as must a Segway-mounted policeman, paramedic, or polo player.

Segway inventor touts island as an energy model
Energy independence is still only a hypothetical goal for the U.S., but the owner of a tiny island off the coast of Connecticut says he has already achieved that feat and is offering his work as a model.
Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway and numerous medical devices, jokingly refers to his North Dumpling Island as an independent nation and himself as Lord Dumpling. Kamen claims to have his own currency and offers visas to visitors to the tiny island a few miles from Mystic, where he is the only resident.

Dean Kamen Combines Stirling Engine With Electric Car
The same day that Ford and General Motors announced catastrophic third-quarter losses, Dean Kamen was showing off his new electric car.
The prototype vehicle, a zippy two-seat hatchback designed with more than a passing resemblance to the Volkswagen Beetle, can go about 60 miles on a single charge of its lithium battery and with practically zero emissions.

His next project, after perfecting an electric car, is to 'to fix the world' - using a 200-year-old engine nobody else thinks can work.
