Italy fears fix in vital Euro 2004 clash
An Italian TV station has installed extra cameras behind the goals for the Sweden-Denmark game because it's worried the match will be fixed.
A high scoring draw would see bitter rivals Sweden and Denmark qualify for the quarter-finals at the expense of the Italians.

Totti verklagt Zeitungen auf fünf Millionen Euro Schadenersatz wegen Imageverlust
Der aus Italien stammende Fußballprofi Francesco Totti, hat nun Klage gegen fünf italienische Zeitungen und zwei Internetanbieter erhoben.
Nachdem Totti beim Fußballspiel der Europameisterschaft in Portugal, den aus Dänemark stammenden Spieler Christian Poulsen bespuckt hatte, hätten die Zeitungen durch ihre Berichte seinen Ruf ruiniert.

Dutch fans buy plane ticket for soccer coach
Dutch fans at Euro 2004 have clubbed together to buy a plane ticket out of Portugal for coach Dick Advocaat following the 3-2 defeat by the Czech Republic.
Advocaat was blamed for making a substitution in the second half which allowed the Czechs to come back from 2-1 down.

Scolari says Portugal like an ugly girlfriend
Spending 20 days with the Portuguese team this month was like seeing a girlfriend in the harsh morning light for the first time and realising she was ugly, coach Luiz Felipe Scolari says.
Scolari spent 18 months training his side for the European Championship, then made three significant changes to his team for last Wednesday's 2-0 win over Russia after they lost 2-1 to Greece in their opening match.

Germanys Team Won't Stay on Hotel's 13th Floor
Germany soccer team refused to stay on the 13th floor of a plush Lisbon hotel, fearing it will bring bad luck in the Euro 2004 competition.
The squad have asked the management of the five-star Corinthia Alfa hotel to allocate them different floors to the Bulgarian team, which had just checked out of the hotel.

Totti: Frühestens im Halbfinale wieder dabei
Francesco Totti hat am Donnerstag die Rechnung für sein unsportliches Verhalten präsentiert bekommen: Der Italiener, der am Montag dem Dänen Christian Poulsen mitten ins Gesicht gespuckt hatte, wurde für drei Spiele gesperrt. Damit steht er seinem Team frühestens im Halbfinale wieder zur Verfügung.

Totti banned for spitting
Italy's Francesco Totti has been banned for three games by Uefa after spitting at Denmark's Christian Poulsen.
Totti will miss his side's next two Group C matches against Sweden and Bulgaria as well as the quarter-finals should the Italians qualify.

Drunk Irish fan steals ambulance in Algarve
In one of the more bizarre Euro 2004 incidents so far, an Irishman was detained by police today after allegedly driving away an ambulance.
Police in Lisbon said the man, who took the emergency vehicle in Portimao on the Algarve at 3.30 a.m. today, had a very high alcohol reading.
