1 Griselda Blanco
Griselda Blanco (b. February 15, 1943), also known as la Madrina, the Godmother, the Black Widow and the Cocaine Queen of Miami, was a drug lord and pioneer in the Miami-based cocaine drug trade and underworld. Blanco was known for her absolute ruthlessness and sociopathic behavior.

Mother Jones interactive military presence map
These numbers are often fuzzy: Some deployments are classified, others are temporary, and just because the Defense Department claims 30 US troops in Indonesia last year doesn't mean 1,500 didn't pass through on training missions. Even so, the map, and the associated research, should give you a good feel for what the Pentagon is up to around the world.

Officials 'back ban on data sale'
There is massive support among election officials in England for a ban on the sale of voters' personal data to direct mail companies, a survey has found.
The Local Government Association poll of more than 200 administrators found 98% supported an end to the practice.

Million bank details sold on eBay
A computer hard disc containing one million sets of bank details was bought on eBay for just £35.
The secondhand PC contained details of customers from American Express, NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland. The files included names, addresses, sort codes, account numbers, credit card numbers, mobile phone numbers, mothers' maiden names and even scans of signatures - more than enough for an identity thief.

Woman Arrested For Failing To Return Library Books
Heidi Dalibor was arrested after she failed to return the books, "Angels and Demons" and "White Oleander", last year.
“I said, what could they possibly do? They can’t arrest me for this… I was wrong,” Dalibor said.
Dalibor did not respond to four notices from the library, two phone calls and two letters. The library forwarded the case to police, who issued a citation for Dalibor's failure to return the materials or pay the fine. The citation included a court date, which Dalibor admits she ignored.

Welcome to the Air Guitar World Championships
Craig "Hot Lixx Hulahan" Billmeier (US) crushed the opponents with his polished performance at the Air Guitar World Championships Grand Final on Friday 22 August in Oulu, Finland. The two-year-reigning Air Guitar, Ochi "Dainoji" Yosuke (JP), had to give in to the overwhelming new Champion. Hot Lixx Hulahan scored highest on the First Round, and on the Second Round defeated his strongest opponent, Andel "John Sniffler" Soreen (NL), with his impeccable timing and an overall solid performance that took the audience by storm.

Wer ist der leidenschaftlichste Luftgitarren-Virtuose? Im finnländischen Oulu traten 20 der weltbesten Luftgitarristen gegeneinander um den Weltmeistertitel an. Die Kunst beginnt schon bei der Namensgebung.
Für die meisten ist es nur heiße Luft, für "Hot Lixx Hulahan", Ochi "Dainoji" Yosuke und "Heart Buckboard" Sweep ein gnadenloses Ringen um die Weltmeisterschaft: Am Wochenende fand im finnischen Oulu die 13. Luftgitarren-WM statt, die Air Guitar World Championships.
